Merchandise Mart Wedding | Erica & Jeremy

Erica and Jeremy’s wedding incorporated all of the elements in a downtown Chicago wedding that we love. Elaborate old world church architecture- check. Awesome in city Chicago locations - check. Hip modern reception venue- check. Stylish fun loving couple- check. Actually having a stylish and fun loving couple like Erica and Jeremy is not necessarily a given, but it was definitely a plus. I had pretty much known from the very beginning that working with these two was going to be a lot of fun. When they were totally game for my alleyway tour of Chicago’s West Loop during their engagement session I knew that they were going to be game for all sorts of fun stuff on their wedding day. And of course I was totally right! We had a perfectly gorgeous stress free day. Lots of love, laughs, and happy memories!

It’s always my goal to get a unique ring shot at every wedding if I can, and Erica had her grandmother’s prayer book with her that made for the perfect background.

It was obvious how much time Erica spent on these blue and green DIY paisley wedding invitations.

We loved the simplicity and elegance of Erica’s Martina Liana dress.

Erica wasn’t the only one looking great that day, Jeremy was looking pretty suave himself. As a great tip to all grooms, buy your tuxedo! They really aren’t as expensive as you might think especially if you can find a good sale, and they always will look and fit better than a rental!

We set up our first look on the Wells Street Bridge, just right outside the Holiday Inn Merchandise Mart.

The people on the architectural river tour approved of our stylish couple.

The Kinzie St. Railroad Bridge is always one of my favorite spots for portraits of the Groomsmen.

The exterior architecture of St. Josaphat’s is just as beautiful as the interior.

The second stop on our bridal party portrait crawl was the Wrigley Building on Michigan Ave.

Nothing like a man in a tux with a nice pair of frames.

So happy we got a chance to photograph our couple all over downtown Chicago! But it was a long day and we were ready for the party to start!

Local magician Dennis Watkins kept the crowd entertained during the cocktail hour with some amazing tricks, like lighting cash on fire and making it appear in a completely untouched orange. Gotta say it was a “mindfreak” moment.

The rest of the night was marked with great food, awesome speeches, a best man rescued from an elevator, and a supremely entertaining dance party! Congratulations guys, we loved being a part of the action!

Beautiful captures. Kinzie St. Railroad Bridge looks like an amazing spot to take photos
