Engagement Session Style Guide: Tips & Fashion advice for your engagement photos.
So you are engaged? How exciting! I remember feeling like I was walking on air with a near permanent smile plastered across my face after Josh surprised me with an engagement ring at our company Christmas party. Those months of being engaged were some of the happiest and most romantic times in my life. I couldn’t stop staring at my ring, it was so surreal! Josh could have hung the moon in my eyes. It’s was just an awesome feeling that I wish I could bottle. Now I’m not saying it’s all down-hill from there… we have a TON of fun together and I’m so thrilled to be his wife but those few engaged months were just special. That’s why I think every couple should try to document the beginning of their journey to become husband & wife with some casual and stylish engagement photos to capture this time in your life when you’re young and so in love! These are the kind of photos you’ll show your kids years from now and say “Look at me and your Dad, didn’t we look hot?” Engagement photos will become your first family portraits.
More so than your wedding pictures, engagement photos have the ability to showcase your personal style and your real life together. Engagement pictures are the kind of images you’ll want to decorate your home with, lining your coffee table and bookshelf with cute photos of the two of you and maybe even displaying a favorite big print over your fireplace. Many brides & grooms choose to use their engagement photos for their save the date cards, wedding reception decor, and in a guest signing book. With so many uses, you’ll want to make sure your engagement photographs come out amazing and you look your absolute best in them. Which is why so many couples ask us “What should I wear for our engagement session?” It’s tough to know what will photograph best while still keeping with your personal style. This is why we created the first edition of our engagement session style guide. The looks here lean more towards the winter/fall fashions but give some amazing ideas on how to put the perfect engagement session outfit together. We hope you enjoy this engagement session guide, the first of many hopefully! View it online or download the free PDF for your reference.
