Lisa and Mike were celebrating their 10 year wedding anniversary (I guess they got married when they were 14), and Lisa had asked me if I wouldn’t mind taking a photo of them dressed up before they headed to a Padre game. Never one to really want to limit myself to just one photo, the concept morphed into an hour long session around the San Diego Convention Center. There is just something special about these two. They aren’t just friends to me, they are the sort of friends I can fold laundry in front of. Really that’s a true story - we brought over multiple loads of laundry to their house the other night to fold (in our pajamas no less). We ate pizza, Mike went and got donuts. It may seem simple and weird, but it was a very comfortable and human moment that made feel very grateful to have them in my life.

Going into photographing a couple who you like or have an affinity for always makes the process of photographing them a lot of fun. Going into photographing a couple who you truly love on an emotional level makes that same process a lot of magic.
