My newest obsession is Pinterest which opens my eyes to all that is beautiful and lovely on the internet. Today, I created this wedding inspiration board with some snippets I was collecting there. The theme; Elegant Pastel Wedding with Vintage Accents. I was inspired mostly by the photo of the vintage prom dresses in light pinks and purples that was taken by Jessica Enig, posted on her Such Pretty Things Blog. The photo got me thinking about all the lace wedding dresses I’ve been seeing. Which lead me to this very sophisticated and feminine, shabby chic wedding pallet. I hope you find this board as inspiring as I do!

I am absolutely in love with bridal bouquets that aren’t all white!! Can’t say that enough from a photography stand point, white just doesn’t POP in photography. If you love this bouquet and want to recreate it in San Diego, find a floral designer who’s portfolio is as creative as the bouquet and show them this picture. I’m sure they will be able to come up with their own fabulous design with this inspiration.
5. Tulip and Peonies stems in simple white ceramic vases. Understated and elegant, these beautiful flowers are highlighted perfectly with an assortment of mixed height white ceramic vases. Add some candles and maybe some lace and you have the perfect romantic setting for your vintage inspired reception. Photo found on Style me Pretty.
6. Romantic & Elegant white wedding cake with pink & gold sugar flowers by Sweet & Saucy. Melody Brandon is a confectionery genius and I’ve spend many an hour admiring her work on the Sweet & Saucy blog. Lucky for San Diego brides, her shop is only a short drive away in Long Beach. I don’t know if they cater to brides outside of LA but I’m sure they can offer a local referral if not.
7. Groom and groomsmen attire in pastel dress shirts, gray suit pants, suspenders, and pink & purple converse. Photo found on Style me Pretty. Men always look better in suits or tuxedos that they own. Rental suits never seem to fit the guys right and they remind me of the prom. In the weddings I’ve shot, when the men are wearing their own clothes they exude a type of confidence and pride that can’t be duplicated with a rental. They feel good because they know they look sharp!
Get the look in San Diego by hitting up the local Nordstroms men’s department, J.Crew, or Banana Republic. As for the awesome pink and purple shoes; Converse has this cool feature where you can customize chucks to a rainbow of colors. You can even add an embroidered id such as your wedding date or initials. The groomsmen can match the wedding decor in style and comfort!
