Personal portrait sessions are perfect for a fresh profile photo. That’s what I was up to earlier today in SE Portland’s industrial sector with Yasmin Khajavi. We met Yasmin last year at a photography meeting in Vancouver. Ironically we ended up about a year later essentially being neighbors. I knew right off the bat that I wanted to photograph Yasmin, but I wasn’t sure I’d ever be able to overcome her Photographer Syndrome. Yasmin has a really bad case of it. Basically Photographer Syndrome (or P.S. as it’s called in the industry) is when a photographer who loves to photograph other people, hates to be photographed themselves. I’m not sure how bad a case of it I have personally. I know I’m probably more selective on which photos of myself get to go public, but I think my P.S. is mild in comparison to Miss YK Vision’s here. Luckily for me, Yasmin has plans to update her website and needed a new shot for her profile page. Yay! So Yasmin actually REQUESTED that I take a photo of her. Granted I was only supposed to get one minute to do this, but I was still pretty jazzed to get the chance. I managed to stretch my one minute out to a few, and now she has more than one photo to choose for her new site design. I love photographing my friends!
