Alana & Issac’s San Diego County Administration Center civil ceremony and Tom Ham’s Lighthouse wedding reception was the biggest smallest wedding I think we’ve ever photographed. We met these two just weeks left before their event, and we could tell that both Alana and Issac were a little stressed about what had started out as a little civil ceremony that had suddenly gotten a lot bigger. Planning a wedding is a lot like rolling a bowling ball down a hill. It may start off a little slow, but once it gets going you just have to hope that all of your planning rolls a strike and not a gutter ball. Okay maybe that is the worst possible analogy for the stress of planning a wedding I’ve ever read, but you get the idea. Point is it can be a little uncontrollable and there is an element of trust involved that everything will turn out swimmingly. In the case of these two not only did things turn out well, this small group rivaled some of the biggest most energetic wedding celebrations we’ve experienced. It truly was an amazing, happy day. Despite the Administration Center’s rather formal bureaucratic sounding name, the gorgeous art deco building is a beautiful location, and their courtyard ceremony location is beyond cute. We managed to get an amazing sunset that night at Tom Ham’s, and our favorite DJ Vynce Pham (the Music Phreek) kept the dance floor packed the entire night. We had such a great time! Congratulations you two!
