The Kennedy School in Portland was one of the first places we visited when we moved to SE Portland. Like many of the McMenamins locations they took a building that had a specific intended purpose, and transformed it into something completely different. The Kennedy School was in fact an elementary school, built in 1915. Now it’s a hotel complete with restaurants, bars, a movie theater, and in the case of Emily and John- an awesome wedding venue. The interior of the school fit the quirky personalities of our couple, and we had a great time exploring and photographing around the premises before the ceremony. The reception was held in the gymnasium, and I have to say it’s the most fun I’ve ever had in a gym! Emily and John also opted in on the Fauxtobooth, which was a perfect match with their fun loving personalities! If you were a guest at the wedding don’t forget to check out the online gallery for prints and free downloads from the day! Congratulations Emily and John, it was an honor to be a part of your day.
