There may not be an especially interesting story behind this shot, but it’s still been one of my favorites for awhile. It was taken on the Quincy brown line train platform in Chicago in March, 2009. It was around this time I was attempting to match all of my personal photos with a Bob Dylan song for an entire month. It turned out to be a more difficult process than I imagined, despite Dylan’s huge library of work. “A Hard Rain’s A-Gonna Fall” ended up being the title of the shot, more because of the fact that it was the one Dylan song that I knew of that made mention of rain in the lyrics… not because the eL stop was actually a political statement. In any event I love wide open apertures with narrow areas of focus. Photos ALWAYS look better if taken right after it’s rained… it does wonders for light reflection.
