Danielle’s a planner. Not as in Danielle is a wedding or event planner, but she’s organized and totally on top of things. They were our first couple to book us for a 2013 wedding, and Danielle made sure she had her day for engagements planned months in advance. With the San Diego Botanic Garden in Encinitas and nearby Swami’s Beach locations secured we were just counting down the days until the session. Awesome fauna and epic sunsets were the goal. Then our day arrived and… it was cloudy. Cloudy and humid. Humid for San Diego? It is rare, but it can happen. When we arrived to the garden I was expecting to see disappointed faces from these two, but nope. Total troopers making the best of it. The San Diego Botanic Garden is a great spot, and we spent some time exploring it until we started to see some hints of light in the cloud cover and decided to head over to Swami’s to see if we couldn’t catch a little color from the setting sun. We pretty much struck out on any epic sunsets that evening, but we did have a lot of fun. And I might have sneaked in a make-up sunset shot of them on a hike at Torrey Pines a couple of weeks later. It pays to hike with the Mitchells.
